Mezzanine Floors
A mezzanine is, strictly speaking, an intermediate floor in a building which is partly open to the floor below, or which does not extend over the whole floor space of the building. Mezzanines may serve a wide variety of functions. Industrial mezzanines, such as those used in warehouses, may be temporary or semi-permanent structures.
From single tier to multiple tier mezzanine floor systems, mezzanine decks enable you to increase your floor space within the existing cubic space. The needs of the business and existing building layout will influence the design of a mezzanine floor. Rather than go through the costly and time consuming activity of relocating, bringing additional facilities to the existing location is often the perfect way to achieve the increased production capacity that a business requires, enabling them to grow whilst remaining flexible to meet demand.
Common uses for mezzanine floors include:
- Storage
- Additional production area
- Workspace for office based administrative staff
- Training or meeting areas
- Staff break rooms or catering
- Control rooms
